Vehicles Needed
There is a critical need at the present time for the
donation of good working vehicles (that are able to be inspected) at the York County Shelter Programs.
The present van that is continuously being used to transport residents has over 190,000 miles and is constantly in need of major repairs.
For over two years, the York County Shelter Programs has been searching for the donation of a used box truck in good condition. Such a vehicle could be used to pick up
large food donations and help with the transport
of furniture donations when residents move
into housing.
Russell is continuously challenged by vehicles that are in a state of major disrepair.
Pamela submitted several original prints that she drew that depicted a box truck. She is an artist who specializes in all types of art forms including portraits and murals. She volunteered to draw this picture because she had heard that the York County Shelter Programs was in desperate need of a refrigerated box truck for picking up food donations and making pick-ups and deliveries. It is her hope hope that her drawing might encourage an individual or a business to contact the York County Shelter Programs about donating a box truck. Perhaps there is someone out there with a box truck that would be willing to drive and help pick up donations on occasion. At the present time, the York County Shelter Programs does not have a vehicle large enough to pick up furniture donations. Residents leaving the Shelter for housing are often in need of furniture.
The donation of a pick-up truck with a snow plow
is also desperately needed. Please contact the York County Shelter Programs if you are aware of someone who might be able to donate a vehicle.
