York County Shelter Programs was acknowledged as the top winner in the York County Shelter Region for the Bangor Savings Bank Community
Matters More ballot competition. In addition to receiving the one thousand dollar award that was given to each of the non-profits listed on the ballot, York County Shelter was the recipient of the five thousand dollar grant for acquiring the most votes in the regional ballot competition.
“The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation is pleased to award a $5,000 grant to York County Shelter Programs for receiving the most votes for York County in the recent 2009 Community Matters More program. The results reinforce how important the Shelter is to the community and the families that it serves,” said Yellow Light Breen, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer for Bangor Savings Bank.

Bank for being so community-minded and caring about those who are less
fortunate. She also wished to express her appreciation to all the York County
Shelter Programs’ volunteers. She said, “Without all the volunteers and their
untiring efforts to circulate the ballots, we wouldn’t have been able to
do it.”
