Volunteers are needed for the new Shaker Hill Kitchens, which is located on 17 Thornton Avenue in Saco.   It is owned and operated by the York County Shelter Programs.  In the beginning stages of this project, Shaker Hill Kitchens will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  Help will be needed with such chores as stocking the shelves, running the cash register, and other aspects of retail sales.  There is flexibility since volunteers can work mornings or afternoons or an entire day.  Please call Joan at 324-1137, ext. 105 or Martha at 324-8811 at the York County Shelter Programs to find out more about volunteering.  On the weekends you can call

A volunteer is needed to pick up the fresh bread from the Bakery at Notre Dame in Alfred early in the morning on Fridays  (around 6:30-7:00 a.m.) and drive it to Shaker Hill Kitchens in Saco.  Please call Martha at 324-8811.

Shaker Hill Kitchens is now open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

All the baked goods from the Bakery at Notre Dame will be available for sale in Saco, including breads, pies, cookies, crackers, desserts, granola. Visitors are welcome to enjoy a baked good and a beverage (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, or water) at one of the cafe tables.

Fresh organic free-range eggs from the Ray Angers Community Farm are available for sale.  The donation of egg cartons that hold a dozen eggs is needed for the Bakery at Notre Dame.  Please call Martha - 324-8811.
