Senior Food Program

Senior Food Pick Up

The Senior Food Program (CSFP) that has been operating at the York County Shelter Programs has been a great success.  On the first Friday of each month, seniors who have registered with the program can come to the grounds of York County Shelter Programs and receive their bag of free food.

According to the latest statistics, there are 287 seniors who have taken advantage of the program.

The Senior Food Program is still accepting applications.  They can be picked up at the Food Pantry at the York County Shelter Programs on Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. or they can be requested from Dick Ogden, P.O. Box 95, Springvale, Maine, 04083.

The Senior Food distribution takes place on the first Friday of each month at the Brothers of Christian Instruction on Shaker Hill Road in Alfred, Maine.  The food is distributed from the green building across from the pantry.

This winter if there is inclement weather on the first Friday of the month postponement announcements will be  broadcast on channels 6, 8, and 13 on the morning of the expected pick-up day.  The make-up date for the Senior Food Pick Up and the SMAA Senior Breakfast will be the following Friday, the second Friday of the month.
