Random Acts of Kindness
May 2010
People have stepped forward over the years and helped the York County
Shelter Programs in so many different ways. This past month one of our
residents at the Ray Angers Community Farm suffered a major heart attack. Due to the quick thinking of Jeff Saunders, 911 was immediately contacted. Farm Manager Tom Conry performed CPR and the resident’s life was saved.
In the whole scheme of things, what Jeff and Tom were able to do by saving someone’s life, was the epitome of an extraordinary act of kindness.
This incredible story inspired the creation of this monthly webpage. Perhaps
people are not performing CPR in emergency situations at the Shelter
all that often, but there have been so many people that are involved with
doing something that involves kindness and consideration. Whereas companies
and corporations frequently recognize their donors for their monetary contributions, we too, at York County Shelter Programs, thank all those who
financially support us. Your contributions enable us to continue to do our
work.
This particular webpage will focus on a monthly basis on examples of different kinds of acts of kindness taking place at the York County Shelter Programs, whether they be monetary or not. It will highlight various good deeds and bring attention to the fact that there are so many different ways that people can step forward to help the Shelter. On behalf of all those who appear on this May 2010 Random Acts of Kindness webpage, the York County Shelter Programs thanks you. For those of you not recognized, please know that your acts of kindness are appreciated.
