New Shelter DVD
New Shelter DVD
“One Word” DVD Is Produced In Time For the Holidays
Seven former and present residents of the York County Shelter
Programs agreed to be interviewed for a DVD that focused on their
experiences of being homeless and staying at the Shelter. A special
thanks goes out to Bob, Dan, Dorothy, Grady, Mark, Mikey, and Scott
for opening up about some difficult times and sharing their stories.
Chad Perry, a professional videographer and owner of
Atlantis Inc., did all the filming and editing. “One Word” was produced
collaboratively by Chad Perry and Mary Doyle. Funding for the DVD
came from the generous donation of Nancy Hanslip and Joe Hanslip.
In regard to the DVD, Don Gean, Executive Director of York County Shelter Programs, said, “This holiday season, we hope to personalize the message of thanks and hope, as a few of the folks who have benefitted from your generosity and support, take a moment to talk to you. As you watch and listen, please remember that each of them is more like you and me than they are different from us. They all had mothers and fathers who wanted good things for them, they all dreamed of becoming happy and productive neighbors, and they all tried as hard as they could, with whatever gifts they were given, to avoid the gut-wrenching agony of walking into a homeless shelter.”
A special thank you is extended to Nancy
Hanslip and Joe Hanslip who generously
funded the production and mailing of the
“One Word” DVD.
