“Music for Meds” Concert
With Tim Janis
An “Apple Celebration of the Arts” took place at the York County
Shelter Programs on September 26, 2009 with world-acclaimed musician, arranger, composer, and conductor, Tim Janis. He has performed with artists such as Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, George Clooney, James Earl Jones, Andre Previn, Emmanuel Ax, Maya Angelou, and the New York Philharmonic and London Symphony.
If you were to access the official website of Tim Janis:
you would see that he is an individual with a deep social consciousness.
He is well-known for his “Music With A Mission.” He has dedicated his time to projects such as cancer and AIDS work, the USO, hospitals, education, homelessness, and global peace.
Pam Hartvigsen served as Client Resources Director for many
years at York County Shelter Programs. She left this position a few
in the spring of 2009 to dedicate her time and efforts to developing funding
sources for prescription medication for homeless and uninsured
individuals. She witnessed firsthand that there is a widespread and
often life-saving need for these medications. In late July, Pam contacted
Tim Janis about this critical situation. Tim generously agreed to donate
his time for this concert.
