York County Shelter Programs’

Art Show

Grady, a former resident of York County Shelter Programs, came up with the idea of displaying and selling his art work at an art show to benefit York

County Shelter Programs’ Energy Fund.

On Friday, September 26, 2008,  Grady’s paintings will be available for sale in the Dining Commons at York County Shelter Programs in Alfred, Maine, during the Friday night Mama Mia Supper.  The supper will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and spaghetti will be served with three types of sauce (meat, clam, and vegetarian) as well as a choice of cheese or pepperoni pizza.  Salad, home-made bread and pies, and beverages will also be included in the meal.  The charge for the meal for adults is $7.00.  Children’s meals (ages 3 to 11) cost $3.75, and children under two eat for free. The Bakery at Notre Dame will also be open during this time.

The public is invited to attend the Mama Mia supper and to enjoy looking at Grady’s work which incorporates various mediums.  Grady’s pictures will be on display for viewing from 3 to 7 p.m.  There will be minimum affordable prices set on the pictures and a silent auction format will be in place. At 7 p.m. the bidding for the art work will conclude.  Guests will have an opportunity to learn a little about Grady and his work when a brief introductory talk takes place.  Winning bids for the art will be finalized at 7 p.m.. and those who place the highest bid will be able to take the art work home on September 26 at the end of the evening,  or arrangements can be made to pick the work up at another time.
