Vocational Training
in the Bakery
The York County Shelter Programs Food Services Department provides vocational training for homeless persons while preparing and distributing meals to hungry people through two Free Meals Kitchens, Shelter Residential Facilities and our Food Pantry.  This amounts to almost 67,000 meals per year, plus an average of 39 food boxes per day that are distributed to low-income families from our Food Pantry at the Bakery at Notre Dame.

Through the Vocational Training Program at the Bakery at Notre Dame, clients can
learn a trade in catering, baking, or cooking.  Clients learn how to work as a team, show up
on time, and how to present themselves in the workforce.
