Items Needed For Family Shelter
The Caring Neighbors dry goods program of the York County Shelter Programs at Jagger Mills in South Sanford is now closed. Although the Shelter is unable to take large donations, they are in need of some smaller items at this point in time.
There is a need for new towels and new pillows
at the Shelter at the present time. There is always a
need for personal care items such as shampoo, nail
clippers, emery boards, soap, razor blades, shaving cream, toothpaste, baby powder, baby lotions, and
deoderant.
The donation of new sweatshirts and sweatpants
(especially large and extra large sizes) is always
needed, as well as new socks and underwear for both
men and women.
There are also items that are needed at another facility that is opening. There is a need for
working vacuum cleaners in good condition for the Family Shelters. Please call Anita at 324-1137.
Please note that, due to a lack of storage space, only donations in good condition are being accepted until the needs for these items are fulfilled. Unfortunately, the donation of the items has to be arranged to be dropped off since there is no means for the Shelter to pick them up. Please call Mary at 324-1137 to help with the time of drop-off of the twin beds or other items. Thanks for your understanding.
The Bakery at Notre Dame of the York County is in need of the donation of colored sprinkles for cookies, cloth ribbon in holiday colors to tie the cello bags for the cookies, cloth tablecloths for 6’ and 8’ tables, timers, and regular coffee. They are also in need of the donation of adult-size gloves and mittens for residents helping with outdoor deliveries. For additional info, please call Martha at 324-8811 at the Bakery.
The Bakery is looking for the donation of picnic tables and umbrellas for picnic tables as well as large free-standing umbrellas for dining outside for the
residents and guests attending Mama Mia dinners and the Lunch Wagon. Please call Martha at 324-8811.
The donation of a few large wooden barrels in which to plant herbs is needed, as well as the donation of two large water dispensers, rhubarb for pies, cutlery especially forks, used towels for rags, and heavy-duty extension cords.
The Free Meals Kitchen in Sanford is in need of the donation of a dolly to move the sign which weighs about 40 to 50 pounds. Please call Martha at 207-324-8811 for these requested items for the Food Services Program. Thank you.
