Food Pantry

The York County Shelter Food Pantry is open on Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

However, emergency food boxes are available twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year by calling the York County Shelter Programs at 207-324-1137.


The York County Shelter Food Pantry is located on the lower level of the Shaker Barn, off of Shaker Hill Road in Alfred.  Everyone is welcome.


The need for food from individuals and families has increased to startling proportions.  Three years ago, the York County Shelter’s Food Pantry provided 9,251 food boxes and this past fiscal year they provided 13,792 food boxes.


An average of 39 food boxes are distributed on a daily basis.
