the Holidays
Turkey donations are always appreciated
during the holidays.
Sheila Richard and Lori Theriault have volunteered to wrap gifts for York County Shelter Programs at Borders in South Portland for several years.
For years there has always been an interest at York County Shelter Programs
to help the residents and those in need
in the community over the holidays. Over thirteen hundred food boxes are distributed
at Thanksgiving and at Christmas. Gifts
are distributed to those in need at the
York County Shelter and at the permanent houses throughout the county. Donations
towards turkeys and food items and gifts are always appreciated.

John and Denise Sullivan have been great supporters of the York County Shelter Programs. Denise has organized various towel and food collections at St. Martha’s Church. Over the holidays she organizes a holiday tree that benefits the residents of the York County Shelter Programs.
At Thanksgiving, 727 of these food boxes were distributed to those in need. The distribution of food boxes was repeated on a large scale for Christmas dinners as well.
Thanks to Suzanne Farnsworth and Kristin Booth from St. Francis of Assisi for their frequent donations of diapers for the babies in the Family Shelter. Thanks also to Rosemary Aranis. Quarters are collected on a regular basis for the donation of diapers for which there is always a desperate need. Suzanne and Kristin are pictured dropping off a large donation of diapers during the holidays.
Mardens in Sanford is extremely generous to the York County Shelter Programs. Pictured here are Assistant Manager Dave Stenberg and Pam Cyr. A special thank you is extended to Store Manager Robin Estes and Candy Bissell for their incredible support.
